Its Summer - What am I thinking?
Hello friends and fellow subscribers <3
It’s been a long time that I haven’t written here…probably a combination of being too in my head & being busy in Manchester.
Whatever, the term is over, and 4th year of medical school is over - crazy. Only one more year to go and then I’m out of education! I think it’s going to be a massive shock for me because for my whole life, I’ve only ever really known being in education (apart from a 9 month gap in 2020/2021).
I’m so excited to become a worker, and I know I’ll probably regret saying that once it happens, but I can’t wait to have a routine, a sense of independence and some control over my life…and MONEY!
4th year is apparently the hardest year of medical school so it feels good to say that it’s been completed. Rotating through all the different specialties has been super interesting, and seeing the different type of doctor that each specialty attracts really shows you what kind of character each specialty needs/attracts.
ANYWAY, more excitingly… I’m going to Samoa today…for my medical elective. I’m really really really excited to engage in a culture that I know absolutely nothing about AND to work in the healthcare space there. I find that prospect a lot more exciting than if I was just going there on a ‘solo-travel trip’. I’m thinking of doing some vlogging whilst I’m out there, or maybe even film a short documentary-type film.
Now that exams are out of the way, I can go back into being a lot more creative. And reading a lot more. I’ve bought 5 books, which are:
Shuggie Bain - Douglas Stuart
Home - Harlan Coben
Love Me Back - Merrit Tierce
I Who Have Never Known Men - Jacqueline Harpman
Before We Were Strangers - Renee Carlino
The themes are: depth, sadness, emotion, relationships, romance… = me.
Has anyone read these books? If you have, please comment below and let me know what you thought!
I will keep you guys more updated but thats it for now so wish me luck on my 34 hour journey today :)
